The 2026 Historic Preservation Week Historic Bike Tour is less than two months away. The event takes place on May 9 at 10:00 AM. The theme for this year's free ride is 20 Years of Saving Our History, featuring a 10-mile route with 12 historical stops..

The tour begins at Albrecht Cycle shop and concludes at the Sioux City Railroad Museum. No advance RSVP is required, though all participants must sign a waiver at the start of the ride.

Participants will be able to use the free izi.TRAVEL app on their smartphones to follow along. The app will provide historical descriptions and photos to read and view as the tour arrives at each stop. The digital tour is currently private. The QR codepasscode, and link to access the route on the app will be published the day before the event. Downloading the app in advance is recommended to ensure participants are ready to scan and ride.
